CREAF is seeking for a researcher, to work with a sole full-time contract on the following projects (alternatively/simultaneously):
- CREAF contribution to the BESTMAP project (“Behavioural, Ecological and Socio-economic Tools for Modelling Agricultural Policy”), ref. 817501, from the H2020 program, funded by the European Union.- CREAF contribution to the PhenoTandem project (“Harmonizing Remote Sensing and Citizen Science vegetation phenology observations”), funded by IHE Delft, in the CSEOL project funded by ESA.
The contract will last until the end of the tasks detailed below in the framework of those projects.
TASKS Maintain an up to date communication with the BESTMAP project consortium. Be the main author of the deliverables assigned to CREAF. Deliver of the work required to fulfill the tasks assigned to CREAF. Do research in fields such as Ecology, Modeling, Agriculture, Phenology, Remote Sensing, Data Management, Analysis and Presentation, directed to solve the challenges that BESTMAP and PhenoTandem faces and in contribution to the dissemination to the results of the projects. Writing scientific literature. Coordinate the stakeholder involvement for the Catalan case in BESTMAP. Promote the usage of the RitmeNatura platform. Attend project meetings, stakeholder & co-design meetings, Advisory Board meetings and thematic conferences. Contribute to the promotion Grumets research group and to the use of the MiraMon software (desktop, mobile and web). Apply geospatial standards and contribute to their development.
REQUIREMENTS Higher degree in Environmental, Biological Sciences or similar, with experience in multidisciplinary work. Scientific PhD. Experience in previous European Union projects. At least, training and experience in one of these topics: Ecology, Modeling, Agriculture, Phenology, Remote Sensing, Data Management, Analysis and Presentation. Knowledge and skills in group work. Good level of Catalan, Spanish and English, written and spoken. Availability for traveling abroad.
ASSESSABLE CONDITIONS Previous experience in similar projects. Experience in participatory processes and work with multi-stakeholder platforms. Experience in application development in JavaScript and Python Experience in script programming. Knowledge on geospatial standards and the consensus process used for their development. Preference for Microsoft Windows based systems.
