I hold a Master’s degree on Sustainable Water management (Universidad de Zaragoza, 2017) and I’m enroled in the PhD Environment and Society from the Universidad Pablo de Olavide, Seville.Since 1998 I’ve worked developing and applying GOTILWA+, a forest growth simulation model. I’ve been involved in national (MONTES, MEDFORESTREAM) and European (ATEAM, SilviStrat, CARBO-INVENT, CCTAME, MOTIVE, CLIMSAVE) projects aiming at quantifying carbon and water balances in Mediterranean an European forests and assessing the impacts (drought, fire) of Climate Change on forest ecosystem services and their vulnerability. I’ve also been implicated in identifying adaptive forest management strategies working closely with the forest sector stakeholders. From 2013 until now, my work has been more specifically oriented towards the analysis of vulnerability to Global Change in the use of water and the definition of adaptation measures in water management working together with local actors and administrations. I have collaborated in the LIFE + MEDACC and ISACC TorDelta projects and I have been the coordinator of the BeWater project (FP7 Science in Society). I coordinate the Alerta Forestal citizen science project that involves society in the detection of affectations in forest health and I participate in the CLISWELN (JPI Clima) and FASTER (H2020-Widespread) projects.
