Let's talk about citizen observatories!

Summary:               

April is the citizen science month. In this context, Cos4Cloud (Co-designing Citizen Observatories Services for the European Open Science Cloud), a European project on technological innovation in citizen science, organizes a webinar to discuss the concept of citizen observatory. As well as present opportunities and challenges of citizen observatories in the age of global change and crisis such as COVID-19.

 Structure 

  • Introduction about citizen observatories by Karen Soacha (15-15:20 pm)
  • Panel about opportunities and challenges of citizen observatories (15:20-15:50 pm)*
  • Open conversation with the webinar participants. (15:50-16:00 pm)

The panellists will discuss the three questions propose below. 20 minutes

  1. What is the future role of citizen observatories, taking into account the current challenges like pandemics and global change?
  2. What are the main challenges that citizen observatories are facing? And how to tackle them?
  3. What could be the role of communities in the evolution of citizen observatories?
