CREAF

CREAF is seeking for a technician, part-time contract (50% of the ordinary working hours of CREAF) for developing the CREAF contribution to the E-SHAPE project (“EuroGEOSS Showcases: Applications Powered by Europe”), with reference H2020-SC5-2018-820852-2) in the H2020 program and funded by the European Commission.
The contract is initially for 6 months, starting in May 2021, and could be extended until the end of the project (30/04/2023), depending on funding and the development of the project. The salary offered is 12900 € (salary for 50% of working hours) gross per year.

TASKS
- Develop applications to process remote sensing data and produce higher level products in the cloud and in the open data cube.
- Develop other web technologies in support of the project needs and in continuation of the group legacy.
- Maintain communication with the relevant project consortium and monitor the project evolution.
- Produce materials/data in supporting of writing scientific literature.
- Contribute to the integration of EU funded projects results in the MiraMon software (desktop, mobile and web) as a mechanism to elevate the TRL of solutions.
- Contribute to the promotion Grumets research group and to the use of the MiraMon software (desktop, mobile and web).

REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Ecology, Informatics, Physics or equivalent.
- GIS and Remote Sensing skills.
- Experience in developing applications in cloud environments.
- Some level of programming skills in at least one of the following languages: JavaScript, Python, R, C or similar.
- Good level of English, written and spoken.

ASSESSABLE CONDITIONS
- PhD in Environmental, Biological Sciences, Geography, Informatics, Physics or similar.
- Experience in developing applications in the Copernicus DIAS, Open Data Cube or similar.
- Fluency in exposing ideas and discussing in public.
- Experience in previous European Union projects.
- Building or contribution to web map browsing technologies.
- Careful attention to details.
- Working independently but in constant coordination with a team.
- Good level of Catalan, written and spoken.

SELECTION PROCESS AND CRITERIA
1.
